NO CONGRESSIONAL ACTIVITY UNTIL WE GET A SPECIAL COUNSEL

The wheels are coming off the bus. Donald Trump now claims he was going to fire former FBI Director James Comey regardless of the Department of Justice recommendation (http://nbcnews.to/2pp6VIB). Reports suggest that Trump was fuming over Comey’s lack of loyalty and refusal to make the Russia story go away (http://wapo.st/2q6GKpf). This constitutes a clear abuse of presidential power.
–Days before he was fired, Comey asked for money to accelerate the Russia investigation (http://nyti.ms/2pkwBWL).
–FBI prosecutors issued grand jury subpoenas for Flynn associates (http://reut.rs/2qYUwew).
–The acting FBI director contradicted the White House by saying the Russian probe is “highly significant investigation” (http://politi.co/2pBSQTD).
We’re getting traction: Several members of Oregon’s congressional delegation (http://bit.ly/2q6NeV8) have demanded an independent investigation, along with 20 state and district Attorneys General (http://bit.ly/2r4AyLy).
But we cannot be satisfied with public statements. The GOP Congress is showing little backbone (http://nyti.ms/2q6aiBi), so our democratic MoCs will need to keep fighting hard.
We must build on the momentum and demand ACTION!
