Defeat Trump’s Anti-Science Budget
—————————————————————————————
#DefendScience

President Trump has asked Congress to make DEEP CUTS in next year’s budget for scientific research; cuts so drastic that on April 22, scientists are staging an unprecedented March for Science in Washington, DC and around the globe.www.marchforscience.com.

– Proposed are 20-50% cuts in funding for the NIH (the US’s major sponsor of biomedical research), the EPA and Department of Energy.http://wapo.st/2ptr7s6

– Not only will these cuts set back scientific progress by decades, impacts in Oregon will be profound. Oregon hospitals will lose jobs and our cancer patients will lose their access to lifesaving clinical trials.

Republicans will destroy the scientific infrastructure that has brought us innumerable advances and made America a leader in the scientific community. Tell our Members of Congress to refuse the President’s proposals to cut funding for science research when Congress takes up funding for fiscal year 2018.

We must stand up for science!

Local April 22 events include a March for Science in Grants Pass, hosted by Rogue Indivisible. The event begins at Riverside Park, 304 East Park Street, Grants Pass (between the bridges) at 10:00 a.m. Bring signs, flags, family and friends! Earth Day events are also planned at the Science Works Hands-On Museum in Ashland. For additional details, please visit the calendar page on their website at https://www.scienceworksmuseum.org/calendar.asp
