Today’s Call To Action
WE DO NOT TRUST TRUMP
WE DO NOT TRUST THE GOP
WE DEMAND THAT CONGRESS ACT IN OUR INTEREST
We are all safer and healthier when we take care of each other, stay at home, and when everyone has their medical and financial needs met. As individuals, we can do a lot, but we also need the federal government to work for us. Congress must pass legislation that puts money directly into the hands of people so we can all remain in our homes, keep our lights on, put food on our tables, and afford medical care.
The time for Trump and his GOP to help only themselves must end. The time to trust the Administration without robust legislative oversight is long past. They steal our money, hold onto power, and endanger our lives by:
- Firing IGs;
- Mismanaging funds appropriated for medical supplies;
- Delaying payments to individuals;
- Withdrawing funds from the WHO;
- Threatening to adjourn Congress;
- Inciting violence against governors who protect their constituents.
Our members of Congress can—and should—oversee, investigate, and legislate while remaining safe.
The Emergency Money for the People Act provides regular income support for however long the pandemic lasts. Provisions for robust legislative oversight and full funding for the USPS and vote-by-mail must be included in this and every bill to protect us from Trump and his GOP.

**ACTION ONE: CALL OUR U.S. SENATORS**
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR SENATORS MERKLEY and WYDEN:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code].
Please thank the Senator for everything he does for his constituents. We appreciate his tireless efforts. Today, I’m calling to urge him to introduce Senate legislation compatible with the Emergency Money for the People Act in the House. We must put money in the hands of the people so they can stay in their homes, keep the lights on, put food on the table, and access affordable medical care.
Fully funding the USPS and vote-by-mail are also critical. Robust legislative oversight is essential to be sure the administration uses the money the way the law intends.
Thank you.”

Fully funding the USPS and vote-by-mail are also critical. Robust legislative oversight is also essential to be sure the administration uses the money the way the law intends.
