PROTECT OUR ELECTIONS!
Yesterday, Robert Mueller was asked if the Russians would likely try to interfere in our elections again. He said, “They’re doing it as we sit here.”
Tuesday, FBI Director Christopher Wray warned the Senate Intelligence Committee about continuing Russian interference.
We all know that Russia and other hostile powers are ramping up attacks for 2020. Efforts to address election security are waiting for action in the Senate. Mitch McConnell claims there is no threat and has vowed that he will refuse to allow a single election security bill to come to a vote.
Where’s Walden? Selling us OUT!
Mueller was asked if presidential candidates would now feel no need to report interference by foreign powers. Mueller gave the chilling answer, “I hope this is not the new normal. But I fear it is.” We should consider if future candidates should remember that Trump’s campaign accepted help from a hostile government with impunity or remember that he was impeached.
Russia and other enemies of our democracy have much to gain if the legitimacy of our elections is damaged. The American people have much to lose.
