CALL TO ACTION #752: Congress: Stop Trump from Wrecking Our Economy (September 5, 2019)
CONGRESS: STOP TRUMP FROM
WRECKING OUR ECONOMY!
Trump is the number-one single risk factor for the global economy. Not surprisingly, the man who bankrupted his businesses SIX times, is wreaking havoc on the world’s two largest economies—ours and China’s—and is on the verge of dragging the rest of the world into recession.
Despite inheriting a strong, expanding economy from Obama, Trump has taken a wrecking ball to our livelihoods with his ruinous economic policies. Trump’s China tariffs:
- Cost American households $1000/year
- Caused China to cancel all US agricultural imports, causing the loss of a $19.5B market, resulting in $28B in taxpayer subsidies to farmers
Trump’s Tax Scam legislation has been equally destructive, resulting in:
- A deficit approaching $1 trillion
- Widening income/wealth inequality as middle-class incomes stagnate
- Only 5% of the growth needed to offset tax-cut losses
Where’s Walden on these ruinous economic policies?

Trump’s tweets and lies cause the markets to gyrate wildly, potentially benefiting him and his allies. Businesses are reluctant to invest because of Trump’s trade policies. The manufacturing sector is in recession. Key economic red flags, like the inverted yield curve, are signaling the #TrumpRecession is on the way.
Moody’s chief economist Mark Zandi says,
“[Trump’s] policies are driving the economy
into the ditch.”
