CALL TO ACTION #875: Congress Must Step in to Manage the Pandemic (March 10, 2020)

239
Days

Until the November 3rd Election

CONGRESS MUST STEP IN TO

MANAGE THE PANDEMIC

When we get sick, we need medical care. No matter who we are or where we are from, we rely on our medical and community institutions for that care.

Incomprehensibly, Trump and his administration put their political needs ahead of our health, our safety, and our economic security.  They destabilized our economy with their 2018 tax cuts that went to their wealthy donors – and are trying to pass another one. They refuse to listen to experts and put Trump’s fragile ego above science-based recommendations to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who you gonna call? Lying Donald Trump,

or a pandemic expert?

Congress must step in and act. They cannot go on recess and leave Trump to his own devices, worsening this crisissabotaging the response our country NEEDS RIGHT NOW. Call Senators Wyden and Merkley, and Greg Walden. Demand that Congress stay in session and act during this emergency by:

  • Having daily Congressional COVID-19 briefings given by experts outside of the Trump administration
  • Passing a legislative package that puts our families first, including food, medical care, paid time to care for ourselves/family, and worker protections

We have come together and faced down adversity before.

Congress must give us the tools to do this now.

Demand that they do so!
