TRUMP COULD WIN AGAIN
WITH RUSSIA’S HELP
Russia attacked the 2016 presidential election. Robert Mueller warned last week that the Russians will attack the 2020 elections. “They are doing it as we sit here,” Mueller testified. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won’t allow a vote on any of the bills designed to protect the 2020 election from foreign attack.
Why would McConnell refuse to defend the 2020 elections? Because of recent large Russian investments in McConnell’s home state of Kentucky? Or, maybe because he has taken “donations” from the manufacturers of election machines that are known to be vulnerable to hackers?
Whatever Moscow Mitch’s reasons, failing to protect our elections will assist Russian meddling to boost the chances of reelecting Trump. Plain and simple.
Securing elections is not difficult, but it takes money. Steps include:
- Providing paper backup copies of voter registration databases.
- Purchasing voting machines that leave a paper trail.
- Implementing post-election audits to ensure accuracy and legitimacy of the results.
Bills to harden voting systems are awaiting votes in the Senate and should be passed. Otherwise, Putin’s plan to destabilize our democracy will be furthered by none other than the Republican Party.
Where’s Walden? Helping Trump help Putin destabilize our democracy.
Fight Russian Election Interference!
Pass Bills to Harden Our Voting Systems!
**ACTION ONE: CALL OUR SENATORS**
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR SENATOR MERKLEY:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code]. I am calling because . . .
. . . the 2020 election remains vulnerable to attacks by Russia and other countries. I ask the Senator to:
- Demand that Mitch McConnell allow votes on bills that will make our elections safer;
- Call upon the House again to do its constitutional duty and hold the president accountable for his crimes and other impeachable offenses.
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR SENATOR WYDEN:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code]. I am calling . . .
. . . to thank Senator Wyden for his work at the border this weekend and for fighting to make our elections safe from cyber attacks. Today, I ask the Senator to:
- Keep pushing the Senate to vote and make cyber protection measures mandatory nationwide;
- Join Senator Merkley to call on the House to do its constitutional duty and hold the president accountable for his crimes and other impeachable offenses.

**ACTION TWO: CALL COMPLICIT GREG WALDEN**
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR WALDEN:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code]. I am calling because. . .
. . . the House must fulfill its constitutional duty and hold the president accountable for his crimes and his other offenses. I will never stop asking, imploring, demanding that Greg Walden:
- Join his Oregon and Washington State colleagues in the House and Senate by calling for an impeachment inquiry;
- Publicly acknowledge that our election infrastructure remains vulnerable to attacks from Russia, and that Senator McConnell must stop his obstruction to votes on election security bills.
Through Greg Walden’s actions and inactions—his silence has been deafening—he appears to fully support Trump, regardless of how much damage Trump is doing to our democracy and to world stability. Know that we are still here, we will hold him accountable, we are working to flip his seat BLUE — #2020IsNow!
