STOP TRUMP’S SABOTAGE OF THE ACA

The GOP’s efforts to destroy the Affordable Care Act (ACA) have not stopped. In addition to using the budget process and “tax reform” to cut funding and ultimately repeal the ACA, Trump is cynically undermining it from within.
Trump has:
• deliberately sabotaged ACA enrollment
• denied waivers to allow market flexibility programs lowering premiums, even in conservative Oklahoma and Iowa
• issued regulations that allow employers to deny free birth control coverage
• signed orders weakening the individual mandate and lowering the standards for individual plans
• used ACA funding intended to promote the law to undermine it instead
• refused to commit to payments required to keep premiums from skyrocketing

Congress must ensure that he does so by insisting on hearings about Trump’s sabotage of the ACA and by requiring any nominee for HHS secretary to commit to upholding the law.
