We had hoped to take a day off from making calls. But Trump and the GOP aren’t resting and neither can we.
This weekend reports came out that Trump is ending DACA (http://politi.co/2ewjz0H). And behind the scenes a legislative threat to the ACA is stealthily gaining momentum while we are rightly focused on Houston and Charlottesville.
So while you wrap up your summer vacations please . . .
1. Leave messages for our MoCs to make it clear we expect the DREAM Act (S. 1615/HR. 3440) to be the first action of business when Congress is back in session (http://bit.ly/2eUu0i3). We MUST stand by DREAMers and #DefendDACA
2. Get caught up on the GOP’s ACA repeal bill: Graham-Cassidy-Heller amendment (http://bit.ly/2vbOTfh). September brings the end of the reconciliation window for ACA repeal with 50 votes (http://bit.ly/2vSCJnq). The end is in sight.
September will be a busy month. Congress has a large to-do list (http://bit.ly/2xEwIgp) and we will be watching every step of the way.
