HOLD TRUMP ACCOUNTABLE
FOR HIS CRIMINAL ACTS
Trump and Congress are being drawn into a monumental confrontation to decide a single question: Is everyone subject to the rule of law or is the President beyond the law’s reach?
The depth and detail of the Mueller report confirms Trump obstructed justice. The revelation has led to calls for impeachment. The House has let fly a blizzard of subpoenas demanding his tax returns, banking details, the appearance of current and former Administration officials, and more.
Trump has launched his standard counteroffensive:
- First, a legal barrage. He said he will “(fight) all the subpoenas” and threatened to go to the Supreme Court if necessary. That’s clearly a delaying tactic.
- Second, shift the discussion. Among his more than 10,000 lies as president, Trump did momentarily shift the public discussion with a heinous lie last weekend that doctors and mothers were “executing” newborns.
- Third, he is invoking executive privilege to prevent administration officials from testifying even though some have testified under oath to Mueller.
All this is to block Congress from its oversight of the President, a Constitutional responsibility. As the House leadership said, Trump’s flagrant attempt to block congressional oversight is “immoral, unethical, corrupt and unpatriotic.”
Greg Walden enables Trump. He is Complicit.
Stonewalling Congressional oversight was one of Nixon’s articles of impeachment. As the Founders believed,
No One Is Above The Law!
