***Today’s Call To Action***

Vote COVID Relief, not Confirmation

Instead of ramming through a far-right Supreme Court nominee who says separating children at the border is only a political issue and climate change is “contentious,” the Senate should be passing a COVID relief bill to help working people, small businesses and state and local governments.

Instead of ramming through a nominee who will vote to overturn Roe v. Wade, the Senate should be passing a COVID relief bill that funds health care for COVID victims, contact tracing, nationwide testing and PPE.

  • 1.5 million state and local employees have lost their jobs, with many more to come if Congress does not provide aid;
  • Small businesses are dying by the thousands;
  • We can’t stop virus outbreaks because we don’t have enough contact tracing or testing.

The economy is sliding from a temporary crisis into long-term damage while the Senate Republicans block spending that is so obviously needed. They are spending precious time creating a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court to hold onto power.

Voters are turning out in record numbers. Oregon voters will start voting as early as today. Build the Blue Wave. Push Congress to fight for us.

Call Congress!

Vote BLUE Up & Down the Ballot!

Get Out the BLUE Vote!

“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code].

Please tell the Senator that I called to say we need a relief bill and not a confirmation of a Supreme Court nominee who believes that separating children at the border is a political issue. I ask that he keep doing everything he can to pass a relief bill and stop the nomination process from completion before the election.

Thank you.”

“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code].

Tell Greg Walden that we need him to stand firm for a relief bill that protects workers, state and local governments and a national plan for handling COVID. We can’t hang on much longer without irreparable damage done to the economy and working people.

Silence is complicity.

Thank you.”

#MyORHealth  Support is available for Oregon’s “helpers”

Lines for Life has created a Virtual Wellness Room to offer support to helpers, mental health professionals, first responders, social workers and anyone considered an essential worker during the COVID-19 pandemic in Oregon. Each check-in call will have a facilitator to guide the conversation.

“We at Lines for Life want to thank you for all the work you do to keep our communities safe,” the organization said. “We are offering a place for helpers to exchange stories of hope and areas of need. We especially want to hear what things are coming up for you personally and explore how we can cheer one another on to continue the good work you are already doing. We ultimately want to create space to breathe out stress and breathe in hope.”

The meetings are held using Zoom conference calls from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at this link: Please share this invite with anyone in your network of Oregon helpers.
