Call to Action: May 8, 2018
FIGHT FOR OUR VALUES
Trump has abandoned the President’s cardinal role as America’s moral leader. It’s obvious that Trump values only riches and (sporadically) the people who flatter him. Beyond that, there is only his complete disregard for constitutional norms and decent behavior. He places no value on truth, and little on family, women or intelligence.
Trump’s values-deficit has given rise to a growingly corrupt and cruel administration:
- rewarding a person who oversaw a CIA torture program by nominating her to run the CIA.
- revoking the Temporary Protective Status of 57,000 Honduran refugees. Hondurans are the sixth nationality, out of ten, to lose their TPS status. He is sending them to a country swamped by a dangerous humanitarian crisis.
- demeaning language about immigrants has inflamed ICE to such extremes that now its agents routinely separate children from their parents.
- has frozen funding for Syria’s humanitarian workers, the White Helmets, who have been credited with saving more than 70,000 lives.
Every major progressive advance—from women’s voting rights to civil rights—has a deep moral foundation.
We must stop the erosion of America’s values!

Finally, please remind Mr. Walden that tens of thousands of us who hold the common values of decency and kindness will be voting in the midterms. Thank you.”

It has become clear that we need a different Congress to restore the moral integrity of our government!
That means replacing Greg Walden with someone who will put
People Before Party!
VOTE in the Primary for the progressive candidates of your choice. Be sure you and all of your progressive friends return their ballots by May 15—people who vote in the primary are EIGHT TIMES more likely to vote in the general election!
Don’t forget to VOTE the ENTIRE BALLOT! In Jackson County, we have two progressive women running for County Commissioner—Lanita Witt and Amy Thuren. Let’s get progressive voices into ALL LEVELS of Government!
