TRUMPCARE WOULD DEVASTATE THE OREGON HEALTH PLAN

Oregon embraced Medicaid expansion under Obamacare, enrolling the second highest percentage of eligible people nationwide. Trumpcare/AHCA, with its draconian Medicaid cuts, would hit Oregon particularly hard. http://bit.ly/2rqV8JK:
— Healthcare is threatened for the nearly 1 million people on the Oregon Health Plan (our Medicaid plan).
— Oregon would have to quadruple its contribution to keep coverage Medicaid. This would be ON TOP of a $1.4 billion budget shortfall this year.
— Trumpcare/AHCA will change Medicaid to per capita for the remaining 600,000 Oregon seniors, people with disabilities, and children. The federal government would send states a lump sum per individual and not according to need http://bit.ly/2qDs1Qf. States will likely shrink coverage, cut payments, or limit benefits to cope with the shortfall.
— Jobs in construction, real estate, finance and other industries supporting health care will shrink. The Oregon Health Plan is expected to bring in $11.2 billion and 37,000 jobs in FY 2018, 23,000 of them outside health care.
Senators Wyden and Merkley have spoken out against Trumpcare http://bit.ly/2reaBfV, http://bit.ly/2rbw1Z9. They have asked us to keep sending stories to stop Trumpcare. We must keep doing this.
The Oregon Health Plan is vital to our state and to our quality of life.

“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am deeply concerned about the impact of AHCA on Oregon. We can’t afford to lose health care for 375,000 people enrolled under the expansion of Medicaid. Nor do we want make our health care providers cut corners for the 600,000 traditional Medicaid beneficiaries. I ask the Senator to do all he can to stop Trumpcare/AHCA in the Senate. Thank you.”
**ACTION 2: CALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN OTHER STATES**
Republicans will need 50 of their 52 Senators to vote yes, assuming that no Democrat votes yes. This means that any three Republican Senators can stop the bill. Those who have expressed concern about the AHCA are: Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME), Deal Heller (NV) Lisa Murkowski (AK) and Rob Portman (OH). Please urge all family and friends to call their Senators and ask them to vote NO on Trumpcare.
