GOP BOYCOTT IN SALEM CONTINUES
“House Republicans walked out of the Oregon Capitol on Tuesday, joining their Senate colleagues in protest of a greenhouse gas emissions cap-and-trade bill.” (Statesman Journal)
The unacceptable behavior of the Oregon GOP state senators and representatives is ongoing as they continue to deny a quorum in both chambers. Action One below addresses actions related to this legislative malpractice.
ADD ELECTION SECURITY TO
2021 SPENDING BILLS
All of us – no matter who we are, where we live, or the color of our skin – need food, housing, and medical care. So, our federal 2021 budget should invest in education, create better paying jobs, make health care more affordable, and keep people from going hungry.
But instead, Trump’s budget:
- Gives away even more money to corporations and the super-rich
- Slashes resources for PEOPLE like education, health care, social security and safety net programs
- Throws money at anti-immigration programs to scapegoat people who want to come here.
The only way to stop trumpism is to unite to turn the White House and Congress BLUE. That means securing our elections. Voting is the tool We The People choose to fight for our guaranteed rights as Americans. Donald Trump and Greg Walden may be fine with shredding the Constitution, but WE ARE NOT GOING TO ALLOW THAT!
We demand that our Members of Congress insert election security legislation into the must-pass spending bills. We may be looking at a shrinking window for this election, but there is still time to act. Our Members of Congress must keep fighting. We have work to do.

**ACTION ONE: GET THE OREGON LEGISLATURE BACK TO WORK**
Join the Rural Oregon Climate Political Action Committee (ROCPAC) and citizens from all walks of life who are calling on Republican legislators to return to Salem and do the jobs they were elected to do!
Everyone interested and willing to connect and peacefully protest the walkout by the Oregon State Senate and House Republicans is invited to gather at noon daily at both the Jackson and Josephine County Republican offices.
