Call to Action: July 11, 2018
STOP ATTACKS ON HEALTHCARE
Healthcare is a human right, vital for each of us to reach our full potential. Yet, Trump and his administration continue their attacks against our healthcare, thereby, endangering our lives.
The drumbeat to sabotage our healthcare started with Trump’s first executive order undermining the ACA, and has continued with ACA repeal attempts, halting cost-sharing reduction payments, repealing the individual mandate, and expanding junk insurance. The results are higher premiums and less access to healthcare.
2019 premiums will increase further with the latest ACA attack. The Trump administration is stopping billions of dollars of risk adjustment annual payments which help insurers cover patients with expensive medical services.
All of this will be compounded if Brett Kavanaugh is confirmed to the Supreme Court. His record bears out his hostility toward abortion rights and the ACA. He has argued that the President can decline to enforce a statue, such as the ACA, even if a court upholds its constitutionality. A case regarding the constitutionality of covering preexisting conditions may come before the Supreme Court.
We demand a Congress that will fight for our health, our lives!
Protect, Expand Our Healthcare!
**ACTION ONE: CALL OUR SENATORS**
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent and voter from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I am calling because I am outraged by this administration’s constant attacks on healthcare. I ask the Senator to do all he can to protect our healthcare and to stop Brett Kavanaugh from being confirmed. Thank you”
**ACTION TWO: CALL COMPLICIT GREG WALDEN**
