Call to Action: February 10, 2018
Oregon Needs Meaningful Climate Legislation
Oregon Needs Clean Energy Jobs
While the Republicans controlling the federal government have sold out to the fossil fuel billionaires, states like Oregon are stepping up to combat climate change, the driver behind our increasingly extreme weather and forest fires, a threat to our homes, health and future.
Oregon’s Clean Energy Jobs Bill can pass this year!
Momentum is growing behind the 2018 Clean Energy Jobs bill, a state measure which would require Oregon’s 100 biggest polluters pay their fair share, put a cap on greenhouse gases, invest in renewable energy, and help those communities most threatened by climate change.
Besides reducing climate risk, the measure would spur innovation, creating safe, good-paying jobs in both urban and rural areas, positioning Oregon to compete effectively in a post-fossil fuel global economy.
A smart economy based on renewable energy can make Oregon globally competitive!
The 2018 Oregon “short” legislative session began February 5 and ends at midnight March 11. Your state representative and state senator need to hear your voice. Oregon cannot wait another year!
