SHOW ME THE HEALTH CARE BILL

#NoScoreNoVote
#ShowUsTheBill

The Senate plans to rush Trumpcare/AHCA to a vote by July 4– with no hearings or public comment. (http://bit.ly/2s9nZDp). This cannot stand. America needs to see this bill whose sweeping changes impact all Americans and would cause 23 million to lose healthcare.

Trumpcare hurts Medicaid and also allows states to give waivers to the Affordable Care Act’s Essential Health Benefits (EHB) and community ratings. http://abcn.ws/2peLd5V

Trumpcare will repeal protections for those with preexisting conditions — denying coverage to those who need it most. http://theatln.tc/2rVS9ZQ.

Trumpcare is especially devastating for women http://bit.ly/2qA80wQ
Medicaid cannot be used at Planned Parenthood, a leading provider of health care for women
If community waivers are granted C-sections and pregnancy could be listed as preexisting conditions.
If EHB waivers are granted maternity care and newborn care may no longer be covered.
Trump signed an executive order repealing the requirement that employer medical insurance cover birth control.

We can’t let them rush these changes through in the dark of night.

Sens Wyden and Merkley are doing what they can (http://bit.ly/2sqQUTJ) but we have to do our part and make noise NOW. America deserves to know what is in the bill. SHOW US THE HEALTHCARE BILL!

**ACTION 1: CALL SENATORS WYDEN AND MERKLEY**

SAMPLE SCRIPT
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am worried and angered that the Senate might pass a health care bill this month without any hearings or public comment. Thank you for supporting the No Hearing, No Vote Act. But we must go further. I ask the Senator withhold unanimous consent on all non-Russia business until the Senate healthcare bill has a hearing.”

**ACTION 3: CALL FRIENDS AND FAMILY IN OTHER STATES**

Republicans will need 50 of their 52 Senators to vote yes, assuming that no Democrat votes yes. This means that any three Republican Senators can stop the bill. Those who have expressed concern about the AHCA are: Shelley Moore Capito (WV), Bill Cassidy (LA), Susan Collins (ME), Deal Heller (NV) Lisa Murkowski (AK) and Rob Portman (OH). Please urge all family and friends to call their Senators and ask them to show the bill AND vote NO on Trumpcare.
