In Trump’s America, only white people can truly be Americans; everyone else is here only provisionally and, even if native born, can always be “sent back” to where they’re from. Nor do non-white citizens have First Amendment right to criticize—even if they’re members of Congress representing their constituencies.  

Trump’s racist attacks against four congresswomen of color were aimed at distracting from both failure to get racist citizenship question on census and news of grossly inhumane conditions in concentration camps on southern border. 

But they’re also part of larger assault on our democracy and move towards tyranny.
