Women’s rights are human rights. Healthcare is a human right. Yet in America, women face inaction by our government, causing our safety and healthcare to be disregarded, creating a daily struggle that denies women the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

In February, Congress authorized funding for the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) but let the act itself lapse. The VAWA provides tools and funding to address domestic violence and sexual assault. The Democratic-led House reportedly plans to introduce reauthorization of an expanded VAWA, with provisions to address stable housing for victims and gun violence. Women suffering domestic violence cannot wait. Congress must reauthorize an expanded VAWA now!
The Trump regime issued a rule prohibiting federal funding (Title X funds) to organizations that provide or refer patients to abortion providers. This will redirect millions of healthcare dollars and, per the American Medical Association, cause a “national public health crisis . . . putting patients and their partners at greater risk.” Women will be denied the human right of healthcare—having honest conversations with their doctors and access to lifesaving medical treatment.
