Congress has a clear, unambiguous right to see Trump’s tax returns. The President is refusing to follow the law. In plain sight. Yesterday news broke of a draft IRS memo explaining that Trump must turn over the returns. The memo was quashed.
Remember watching the head of the IRS try to avoid admitting to a House committee that he was ordered by a higher-up to withhold the returns? It is clear, over and over, that we are watching a cover-up. In plain sight.
The roster of MoCs calling for an impeachment inquiry is growing. The Chair of the Judiciary Committee has argued privately that it’s time. Blumenauer and Bonamici, are now among the supporters. The entire delegation – including Greg Walden — must demand impeachment proceedings. Where’s Walden? Hiding from reality. In plain sight.
Our democracy is on fire. Trump statement yesterday that “I don’t do cover-ups” is his version of Nixon’s statement that “I am not a crook.” Don’t hold your silence any longer.
