Our Recommendations for November
What Voting Blue means to us: We Steering Committee members are pragmatic progressives with no “purity or litmus tests” for our key issues. Rather, we will support the candidate that comes closest to our positions, which means that moderate Joe Biden is much preferred to fascist Donald Trump. And, electability matters; one can’t govern from the sidelines. Sometimes that means backing someone who looks less blue than their opponent, someone who is in better position to be elected and actually help us. Finally, some candidates might want us to maintain our distance for political reasons specific to their constituencies. We respect that, so people we would otherwise recommend may be missing from this list.
Let’s elect a progressive to the hyper-conservative GOP dominated Jackson County Board of Commissioners!

DEMAND CONGRESS ACT TO SAVE AMERICA FROM TRUMP!
US intelligence found abundant evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 election. Trump called the findings a hoax. He continued to support Putin’s international agenda.
Republican leadership has blocked every election security bill sent to the Senate and stripped requirements to report foreign campaign interference from the National Defense Authorization Act.
US intelligence has had evidence for months that Russia was directly paying the Taliban to kill Americans. Trump says it’s all a hoax and besides, he didn’t know about it. Instead of responding, he invited Russia to rejoin the G7. Republicans continue to defend him.
His enablers and apologists say he didn’t read the reports, discounted them, or forgot them. If so, he’s clearly unfit for office. If he‘s just lying, he has committed treason.
Trump repeatedly advances Putin’s interests over those of America and our allies. Republicans continue to protect Trump for their own political purposes—staying in power as a minority party—even at the cost of our democratic institutions and national security.
Demand that Congress Act. NOW. At the very least, demand that they continue investigating the failures and refusals of Trump and the GOP to protect Americans and our institutions from Russian aggression. At the same time, every member of Congress who cares about our country should be calling out Trump’s treason, and the Republicans that make it possible.
Call it what it is. Treason!
Flip the Senate BLUE!
Banish the GOP from Power!

Lines for Life has created a Virtual Wellness Room to offer support to helpers, mental health professionals, first responders, social workers and anyone considered an essential worker during the COVID-19 pandemic in Oregon. Each check-in call will have a facilitator to guide the conversation.
“We at Lines for Life want to thank you for all the work you do to keep our communities safe,” the organization said. “We are offering a place for helpers to exchange stories of hope and areas of need. We especially want to hear what things are coming up for you personally and explore how we can cheer one another on to continue the good work you are already doing. We ultimately want to create space to breathe out stress and breathe in hope.”
