TRUMP’S RACISM NEEDS

STRONG REBUKE

Trump is racist. Those in the GOP who support Trump—like Greg Walden—support his racist agenda. This racist agenda needs a strong rebuke.

Trump’s racism is on display throughout his America:

Families separated at the border, subjected to inhumane conditions, driven to suicide, suffer death on American soil
America’s promise for refugees dies as Trump reduces the number of refugees allowed to almost zero
Public resources proposed as weapons of hate to turn people out of their homes and deny them healthcare
Communities are terrorized by Trump administration ordered raids
Everyday Americans are subjected to revolting taunts and driven to tears, by the vile racist climate Trump creates
Sitting United States Congresswomen are subjected to threats of rape and murder from law enforcement officers

Our MoCs must stand up to these racist attacks in the strongest way possible. Four of Oregon’s Congressional delegation went to the border to bear witness and many have co-sponsored legislation that combats Trump’s racist agenda.

And now they must take the next step; on all public channels, they must call daily for an impeachment inquiry over illegal conditions at Trump’s border camps.

. . . I am very worried about Trump’s hateful, racist rhetoric and how emboldened he has become. I thank the Senator bearing witness at the border and for supporting legislation to stop Trump’s hate. I ask that he:

Do all he can to get the Stop Cruelty to Migrant Children Act passed
Publicly, daily on all channels, call for an immediate impeachment inquiry to investigate the illegal treatment of men, women and children in Trump’s concentration camps

Through Greg Walden’s actions and inactions—his silence has been deafening—he appears to fully support Trump, regardless of how much damage Trump is doing to our democracy and to world stability.
