CALL TO ACTION #921: Stop Trump’s ‘Transition to Greatness’ Before He Kills More People (May 13, 2020)

174 Days

Until the November 3rd Election

Oregon Primary Election

Ballots are due on May 19, 8:00 p.m.

Postmark DOES NOT COUNT.

The recommended deadline to mail completed ballots is tomorrow, May 14.

Please VOTE!

Track your ballot here.

Don’t delay; study your voter pamphlet, make your decisions, mark your ballot, put it in the Postage Paid envelope, and mail it in or deposit it in a county ballot box (locations) before you lose it under a stack of bills! Urge all of your like-minded friends and family to do the same.

Progressive activism means voting the ENTIRE ballot, including seemingly obscure local boards and commissions, and those pesky initiatives.

Help the BLUE WAVE wash over every level of government!

***Today’s Call To Action***

STOP TRUMP’S ‘TRANSITION TO GREATNESS’ BEFORE HE KILLS MORE PEOPLE

The clearest picture yet that Trump’s primary goal is to help himself, leaving the lives of others a distant secondemerged yesterday at a Senate hearingHe is rushing to get businesses restarted because the catastrophic damage to the economy is dragging his reelection prospects down with it. (Trump does not care about The People. And he lies.)

Trump’s ‘TRANSITION TO GREATNESS collided with science yesterday when the government’s top COVID-19 (C-19) scientist, Anthony Fauci, told Senators that premature reopening would cause “needless suffering and death.”

Trump has been inciting his followers—including those heavily armed—by preaching that the “people . . . want their freedom now,” and suggesting that Democratic governors are withholding those freedoms. He also maintains that the protective measures are the Democrat’s ploy to keep the economy in limbo until the November election. (Trump’s tactics are divisive; he is unfit and unable to lead.)

Ironically, on Monday, Trump scrambled to control his own C-19 breakout after two White House staffers tested positive. He ordered everyone in the building to wear a mask, exempting only himself. Rapid testing and contact tracing lead to senior members of the C-19 task force self-isolating.

Such rapid testing and contact tracing is not available to the rest of us, leading to “needless suffering and death.”  How can Trump shove people back to work when even White House employees aren’t safe? (Because he is a malignant narcissist.)

Stop Trump’s Rush to Reopen!

Listen to the Scientists!

**ACTION ONE: CALL OUR U.S. SENATORS**

SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR SENATORS MERKLEY and WYDEN:

“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code].

Trump’s race to reopen the economy will result in “needless suffering and death,” according to Dr. Fauci. I ask that the Senator endorse reopening only when:

  • We all have the same rapid testing and contact tracing as that available to the White House, which can identify and suppress a flair-up of new cases.
  • Hospitals have enough supplies and people to keep them from being overwhelmed.

Also, I encourage him to push McConnell for federal assistance for states and hospitals. Trump abdicated his leadership role in a pandemic and it fell on the states. They now are desperate for the federal government’s help.

Thank you.”
