PROTECT THE 2020 VOTE

On November 3, 2020, election results could start to repair the harm Trump has inflicted. However, the most important election outcome could be whether voters have confidence in the results.

That may not be easy. Democracy’s disruptors are already working to sway the results.

The foreign disruptors – including Russia and China – are preparing cyber attacks. US intelligence officials acknowledge they cannot prevent them.

An arguably greater threat comes from American disruptors, conservative politicians and their wealthy masters who have perfected voter suppression. Allowing more people to vote is not in the best interest of the Republican Party. They fear grassroots organizations like Indivisible because we . . .

Help #WeThePeople VOTE!

Senate leader Mitch McConnell admitted as much this week when he opposed making Election Day a national holiday. McConnell didn’t argue the holiday would increase the number of voters. Instead, he said the move was a “power grab” by Democrats.

House Democrats just introduced a sweeping plan—HR 1 to protect democracy. Among other things, the bill would strengthen and expand voting access, and protect the election infrastructure. McConnell blasted that too.

Where’s Walden!?

Still complicit in his silence, and not upholding his oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic.”

SAMPLE SCRIPT for WYDEN and MERKLEY: “My name is [–] and I live in [town/city], [zip code]. I am calling to express my concern that the 2020 election results might not be valid. In addition to your support for paper ballots, I would urge you to support greater voter access, to expose the dark money driving the races, to outlaw voter suppressionto strengthen the vote counting machinery of elections, and to otherwise support the components of HR 1. Thank you.”

**ACTION TWO: CALL COMPLICIT GREG WALDEN**

SAMPLE SCRIPT for WALDEN:  “My name is [–] and I live in [town/city], [zip code]. I am calling to express my concern that the 2020 election results might not be valid. Does Greg Walden support the Republican voter suppression effort? Will Greg Walden speak out against McConnell’s anti-democratic rhetoric?

In addition, will he support paper ballots and greater voter access, expose the dark money driving the races, strengthen the vote counting machinery of our elections, and otherwise support the components of HR 1? I’m afraid Greg is a Republican loyalist who puts his party before country and has failed to uphold his oath of office. Will he prove me wrong with his ACTIONS? I sincerely hope so, because we need patriots representing us, not smooth-talking politicians. Thank you.”
