DISMANTLE AND RESTRUCTURE ICE’S ENFORCEMENT

AND REMOVAL OPERATIONS DIVISION

Trump promised that he would focus on deporting “bad dudes.” Instead, he issued an order allowing ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division “to arrest and detain any undocumented immigrant they wanted.” ICE-ERO has been denounced for:

  • Breaking up families whose only violation is being undocumented
  • Indiscriminately raiding workplaces, schools, and churches
  • Violating due process rights
  • Making arrests without warrants
  • Making unfounded accusations of gang-affiliation
  • Operating detention facilities that are chronically out-of-compliance and where sex abuse occurs

Many have decried the resources wasted deporting productive community members instead of the “bad dudes.”

Agents in ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations division (who pursue criminals involved in drug, weapons and human trafficking, cybercrime, financial crimes and identity fraud) have asked for ICE to be restructured, fearing the taint of ICE-ERO misdeeds. Members of Congress now seek to dismantle ICE, replacing it with a humane immigration enforcement system that upholds the dignity of all individuals, while transferring necessary functions to other agencies.” Contrary to GOP’s lies—Where’s Complicit Greg Waldenthis is not a call for so-called “open borders.”

ICE-ERO has been a rogue agency for many years. Tell Congress to create an agency that enforces policies that align with our values.

Defend Human Rights!

Fix ICE-ERO Now!
