Today is ZERO minus Two DAY!
***Today’s Call To Action***
Thank You, Progressive Activists
It’s not over. Millions of ballots are yet to be counted and recounted. As Joe Biden said: “It ain’t over till every vote is counted.” Only a legitimate vote tally will allow the country to move ahead peacefully. Job One is to ensure exactly that.
Even before the counting is finished, one result is clear: Thousands of newly mobilized PROGRESSIVE ACTIVISTS had an enormous impact turning out the vote and pushing for candidates and ballot measures. It will take time to quantify the impact. But this election season, we sent millions of letters and texts, and called hundreds of thousands of voters. We are now a proven battle hardened match for Trumpists and their ilk.
The grassroots progressive movement is strengthening, fed by young people concerned about school shootings, racial justice, economic opportunities and climate chaos. They turned out in massive numbers.
Yes, the election results reveal we are a flawed country. Together, we can make America better. The fight ahead is hard and we’re ready.
Call Congress!
Every Vote Must Count!
**ACTION ONE: CALL OUR U.S. SENATORS**
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR SENATOR MERKLEY AND WYDEN:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code].
Please ask the Senator to continue fighting for a complete vote count in every state.
Also ask him to thank the activists in Oregon and across our country for the amazing coalescence and hard work that went into this election and encourage them to continue.
Thank you.”

**ACTION TWO: CALL COMPLICIT GREG WALDEN**
SAMPLE SCRIPT FOR WALDEN:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [town/city], Oregon [zip code].
Tell Greg Walden that he can end his congressional career on a noble note. He can respect the American voter. He can stand up and say every vote must be counted.
Greg sold us out on healthcare, the tax scam, big pharma, the internet and so much more. The least he can do at this point is to stand up to the most corrupt and inept president in modern history. Silence is consent. Silence is complicity.
Thank you.”

**ACTION THREE: BE AN ACTIVIST**
November 6, 12:30 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Ongoing every Monday, Wednesday and Friday
#MyORHealth Support is available for Oregon’s “helpers”
Lines for Life has created a Virtual Wellness Room to offer support to helpers, mental health professionals, first responders, social workers and anyone considered an essential worker during the COVID-19 pandemic in Oregon. Each check-in call will have a facilitator to guide the conversation.
“We at Lines for Life want to thank you for all the work you do to keep our communities safe,” the organization said. “We are offering a place for helpers to exchange stories of hope and areas of need. We especially want to hear what things are coming up for you personally and explore how we can cheer one another on to continue the good work you are already doing. We ultimately want to create space to breathe out stress and breathe in hope.”
The meetings are held using Zoom conference calls from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at this link: https://zoom.us/j/4848426773. Please share this invite with anyone in your network of Oregon helpers.
