STOP TAX CUTS FOR THE WEALTHY — STOP BUDGET RECONCILIATION

#TrumpTaxScam
#NoScoreNoVote

Months after Trump’s budget was declared “dead on arrival” (http://read.bi/2qdVX4Y), the Senate GOP released its version. The GOP plans to use reconciliation to pass tax cuts for the wealthy with only 50 votes, while glossing over the drastic funding reductions needed to pay for these cuts, and adding $1.5 trillion to the deficit http://bit.ly/2xNUVTt.

The GOP budget assumes unspecified trillions in nonmilitary spending cuts and unrealistic economic growth, concealing the true impact of the tax cuts http://nyti.ms/2wrdpGc. Medicare and Social Security will be at risk.

Since the GOP budget hurts most Americans, this bill:
• will obscure analysis of its affects by abolishing the requirement for a score from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) at least 28 hours before a vote http://bit.ly/2xNUVTt
• changes budget rules to disguise the financial impact of the tax cuts http://nbcnews.to/2kcNUHn

“This budget is the Robin Hood principle in reverse,” Senator Sanders said. “[It] would green-light a tax scheme that could very well put Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid on the chopping block,” Senator Schumer added. http://nyti.ms/2wrdpGc

Republcans MUST NOT be allowed to ram through tax cuts for the wealthy using budget reconciliation and hiding the truth. We MUST preserve the CBO score . . .

Demand an open bipartisan process!

(or leave a voice mail after hours)

SAMPLE SCRIPT:
My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon, [zip code]. The GOP is trying to use the budget bill to pave the way for tax cuts for its wealthy supporters. This puts safety net programs at risk. Please oppose these efforts by doing everything possible—including filibustering—to defeat the Senate budget bill and to save the CBO score, Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. Thank you.”
