REJECT RACISM & PASS A JUST SPENDING BILL

#DREAMActNow
#FundCHIPNow
#NoWallNoBan

Trump and his administration have again shown their racists views about immigrants and the poor:

refusing to further discuss Deferred Action for Child Arrivals (DACA) recipients
insisting on a border wall
ending Temporary Protection Status (TPS) protections for thousands of non-white immigrants
promoting white, European immigrants instead
allowing work requirements for Medicaid

Trump’s immigration “reform,” if enacted, would be a form of ethnic cleansing.

Congress must show America and the world that intolerance and injustice have no place here by passing a just spending bill that contains “clean” protection for Dreamers and full funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), the Community Health Center Fund (CHCF), and natural disaster victims.

Doing so takes the moral high ground, demonstrating America’s commitment to protect the most vulnerable among us while rejecting Trump’s racist agenda.

Congress must pass a spending bill by this Friday to avoid a government shutdown. We expect our Members of Congress and the Democratic leadership to ensure that immigrants, children and disaster victims are protected. If the Government shuts down, it will be because Republicans refuse to vote for these measures—preferring instead to coddle Trump’s racism!

Where’s Walden!?!

Fight for Social Justice!

**ACTION 1: Call Congressman Walden and our Senators**
(Leave a message if you can’t get through.)

SAMPLE SCRIPT for Congressman Walden:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. Soon, Congressman Walden will be voting on a continuing budget resolution. One again, I am demanding that he put People Before Party to represent his constituents—NOT his donors (and future employers?)—when he takes these votes. I am asking him to vote “yes” on the next continuing resolution ONLY if contains a Clean DREAM Act, full CHIP and community health center funding and sufficient disaster relief. He must stand up against Trump’s racism and help immigrants, children and disaster victims, or forever be branded a racist himself. Thank you.”

SAMPLE SCRIPT for Senators Merkley and Wyden:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I want to thank the Senator for voting “no” on the last continuing budget resolution. Soon, he will be voting on another one. Please promise me that he will vote “yes” on the next continuing resolution ONLY if it has a Clean DREAM Act, full CHIP and community health center funding and sufficient disaster relief. We must stand up against Trump’s racism and help immigrants, children and disaster victims. Thank you.”

**ACTION 2: Share with Friends and Family**

Share this post with friends and family. Help them leave messages for their Congressional delegation about protecting/funding a clean DREAM Act, CHIP, community healthcare and disaster relief in the next continuing budget resolution. Ask them to stand up against Trump’s racism and help immigrants, children and disaster victims.
