NO JONES NO VOTE – FUND CHIP NOW INSTEAD
Mitch McConnell is undermining the democratic process, and the Alabama election results, by refusing to seat Doug Jones in the Senate. He is disenfranchising Alabama voters to pass a tax plan that cuts corporate taxes more than middle class taxes, and creates a $1.5 trillion deficit that will be used to justify cutting entitlements, including Medicare.
Instead of rushing to a vote, the Senate must wait for Doug Jones. The will of the people must be respected. As Jason Kander points out, election winners can be seated immediately. He should know – as former Missouri Secretary of State, (Democrat) Kander swore in Republican Jason Smith to the House of Representatives within 18 hours of the polls closing.
And if McConnell needs something to do, he can work to pass permanent funding for CHIP for which governors across the country are clamoring. http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/14/politics/chip-extended-states-funds-kimmel-authorization/ What does it say about our country if we prioritize corporate tax cuts over the health of children?
McConnell plans to vote on the Tax Scam NEXT WEEK! This is our last chance to stop it.
America hates this tax plan!
No Jones, No Vote!

**ACTION 1: CALL CONSTITUENTS IN SWING STATES**
Contact progressive constituents in critical swing states, i.e. Alaska, Arizona, Kentucky, Maine, Tennessee, and urge them to call their Senators to insist that Doug Jones be seated before the vote and to urge them to vote NO on the Tax Scam.
The Indivisible Guide makes it easy with its calling tool: https://www.trumptaxscam.org/calls-to-kill-the-tax-scam/
**ACTION 2: CALL OUR SENATORS**
(Leave a message if you can’t get through.)
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. It looks like the GOP is trying to pass the tax bill before Doug Jones is seated. I’m asking that the Senator do all he can to slow down and stop this vote, including insisting that it be postponed until Jones is seated. And while he is slowing down the vote I hope he can find a way to fund CHIP. Thank you”
