FLASH HEALTH CARE RALLY AND CELEBRATION! Saturday, July 29, 2017 Ashland Plaza

July 29, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

11:00 a.m. – Noon this Saturday, July 29 will be our time to gather at the Plaza in Ashland to CELEBRATE and to REINFORCE OUR INDIVISIBLE MESSAGE!

Bring your signs, pictures, art work, stories, families, friends and neighbors.  We will send our collective message that the ongoing shenanigans and outright attacks on our health care and national well being are UNACCEPTABLE!

There are no scheduled speakers, our plan is to meet, CELEBRATE and share the message that we are indivisible in our resolve to HOLD ALL ELECTED OFFICIALS ACCOUNTABLE, especially those for whom we DID NOT VOTE!

Their attacks on Liberty and Justice for all MUST STOP!

From the Indivisible Guide website:

Enough is Enough: Stop TrumpCare

TRUMPCARE STATE OF PLAY

At 2 AM on July 28 (yes, Indivisible staff was still at the office…), Republicans tried to pass a new “Skinny” version of TrumpCare. They thought they could ram through a dangerous bill that would have taken health care away from more than 16 million people and wrecked protections for preexisting conditions. But the bill failed.

This is the biggest win we’ve had so far against TrumpCare. And we won it because you and thousands of Indivisibles and other resistors rose up and stopped Trump’s number one legislative priority in its (monstrous) tracks. They said that they’d repeal the Affordable Care Act on Trump’s first day in office. But they didn’t plan on you.

For SIX MONTHS, you’ve been making calls, showing up, staging die-ins and town halls and public events, demanding that your representatives listen to you and stand up for your healthcare.

AND. IT. WORKED.

You killed it. You showed up at your Senator’s state offices to make your voices heard—and when you were done there, you made tens of thousands of calls to people in some of the most key Republican states urging them to make their voices heard. AMAZING.

Three Republicans, John McCain (Arizona), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), and Susan Collins (Maine) voted against this cruel bill. That’s no accident. For MONTHS Indivisible groups in these states have been telling their health care stories and pressuring their Senators to represent them rather than Trump. But last night wasn’t just won by groups in these states—it was won by Indivisibles across the country working together to change what was politically possible at the national level.

Thank you thank you thank you for everything you’ve done to build this movement. We don’t know if McConnell will attempt to resurrect TrumpCare or finally move on to other Republican priorities. The fight very well may go on. But what we do know is that we scored an historic win and protected health care for millions. You stood indivisible, and in the wee hours of July 28, together, we won.
