STOP THE PRIVATIZATION OF OUR NATION’S ASSETS!

#DonTheCon
#WeakInfrastructure

Trump’s “infrastructure” plan would sell off America’s roads, bridges, railroads, and air traffic control to Wall Street billionaires, political cronies, and even foreign governments—allowing them to double tolls, create new fees, and put billions of our dollars in their pockets. All of this without guaranteeing the creation of a single job! In fact, Trump’s budget cuts billions more from existing infrastructure programs than its new spending proposals http://wapo.st/2s1aR0i

–Under Trump’s plan, banks and other investors would quality for tax breaks, giving them back as much as 82 cents on the dollar—without any requirement to create jobs.

–By lifting the federal ban of tolling on existing interstate highways, Trump tolls will pop up on highways and bridges, making commutes more expensive while lining the pockets of hedge fund billionaires and investors in Saudi Arabia, Russia, and China. http://bit.ly/2rkrINq.

Sen. Wyden has spoken out against this proposed travesty http://bit.ly//2rOBnvm

–Reps. Blumenauer and DeFazio support House Concurrent Resolution 63, which calls for an infrastructure package putting more than 2.5 million to work, benefiting all Americans, not just billionaires. http://bit.ly/2sQbjhX.

Let’s defeat Trump’s plan to sell our national assets to Trump’s billionaire cronies!

**ACTION 1: CALL SENATORS WYDEN AND MERKLEY**

SAMPLE SCRIPT:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am concerned about Trump’s “infrastructure plan” that will privatize our national assets leading to increased tolls and benefiting only investors. Through tax breaks to investors, and by lifting the ban on tolls, we’ll all be paying more while billionaires profit. Please sponsor a bill in the Senate like House Concurrent Resolution 63, which calls for an infrastructure package that benefits all Americans, not just billionaires.”

**ACTION 2: CALL CONGRESSMAN WALDEN**

SAMPLE SCRIPT:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon. I am concerned Trump’s “infrastructure plan” will privatize our national assets—originally financed with public money—leading to increased tolls, benefiting only investors. Through tax breaks for these investors, and by lifting the ban on tolls for existing federal highways, we’ll all be paying more while billionaires profit. I am asking Congressman Walden to oppose this massive asset grab by private interests.”
