STOP TRUMP’S EXTREMIST DOJ APPOINTEES

PROTECT EPA AND CIVIL RIGHTS 

McConnell remains committed to confirming as many pending out-of-the-mainstream executive and judicial nominees as he can in the next 27 days. These people are too controversial to have been brought up for a vote before the Trump regime pulled off the Kavanaugh scam. He’s again trying to blackmail Democrats by threatening to keep the Senate in session through October unless they agree to fast-track pending nominations.

This week the Senate will vote on Jeffrey Bossert Clark and Eric Dreiband, two extremists who’ll continue Trump’s dismantling of environmental and civil rights protections.

Clark would lead the DOJ’s Environmental Resource Division, serving as top environmental prosecutor, but won’t enforce or protect DOJ’s environmental laws because he:

  • Is a climate change denier
  • Spent his career fighting environmental protections and opposing common-sense environmental regulations

Dreiband is unqualified and morally unfit to head the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division because he:

  • Has no experience in core areas—voting rights, hate crimes, police reform, housing, education
  • Spent his professional life defending employer discrimination against women/mothers/Muslims/elderly/convicted felons
  • Attacked the EEOC’s attempts to ensure racial justice
  • Defended the UNC transgender bathroom ban

Do not let the GOP “kavanaugh” the environment and civil rights!

Block the Clark and Dreiband Nominations!

**ACTION ONE: CALL OUR SENATORS**

“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I am very concerned about the unqualified, extremist nominees Trump is sending to the Senate for confirmation. Jeffrey Bossert Clark (to head the DOJ’s environmental enforcement division) is a climate change denier whose opposition to environmental regulations and protections makes him unsuitable for the role of enforcing America’s environmental laws. Eric Dreiband (to be director of the DOJ’s civil rights division) has a long history of hostility to civil rights and is the wrong choice to safeguard our civil liberties. Since the usual vetting process isn’t working, I’m asking the Senator to put HOLDS on these nominees until Trump nominates people who will carry out their agency’s duties, rather than undermining them from within. Thank you.”
