The Josephine Social Justice Alliance invites everyone to join us as we:
Protest Jeff Sessions’ needlessly cruel immigration policy.
Bring your signs, flags, photos, family members, neighbors and messages to share as we gather in front of the Josephine County Courthouse, 500 NW 6th Street in Grants Pass on Thursday, May 24 from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
We hope many will join in as we protest the inhumane separation of undocumented parents from their children. We agree with the sentiments of U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, the top Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee: “Criminalizing parents seeking protection for themselves and their children is inhumane, excessively punitive, and can deliberately interfere with their ability to seek asylum.”
Parents who are only trying to keep their children from harm and give them a safe upbringing (having already given up everything to flee terrible homeland conditions) are torn away from their children when they are apprehended and prosecuted.
