Please join ORD2 Indivisible’s monthly General Meeting on Monday, Aug. 10, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., on Zoom.
This month’s meeting will be a panel discussion called “Let’s Talk About CAHOOTS.” CAHOOTS (Crisis Assistance Helping Out on the Streets) is a community-based public safety system that started at the White Bird Clinic in Eugene 31 years ago to provide mental health first response for crises involving mental illness, homelessness and addiction. The CAHOOTS model has been in the spotlight recently as our nation struggles to reimagine public safety. The panel will consist of Tim Black, Operations Coordinator with CAHOOTS; Meesha Blair, Advocacy Committee Chair with NAMI Southern Oregon; Shelby Henry, Resource Advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault; and Sarah Westover, Phoenix City Council member who is also active in the Real Solutions Coalition. It will be moderated by Terrie Martin, ORD2 Indivisible Steering Committee member.
Please join our meeting to find out how a CAHOOTS model might work in Jackson County. To register, please click here:
