Can Oregon Lead by Example?
HB2020, introduced into the Oregon Legislature in January 2019, will create an Oregon Climate Action Program charged with reducing Oregon’s Greenhouse Gas emissions and reducing atmospheric greenhouse gases by promoting carbon capture and storage in the management of our natural and working lands (agriculture and forests). Alan Journet and Kathy Conway, co-facilitators of Southern Oregon Climate Action Now will discuss why such a program is needed in Oregon, how cap, trade, and invest and HB2020 achieve emissions reductions, what the program means for us, and how we can promote its passage.
Join us on Sunday, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. for this extremely important discussion at the Talent Community Center, 104 E. Main Street in Talent. The Community Center is located behind the Talent City Offices.
