SUPPORT IMMIGRANTS: PASS CLEAN DREAM ACT NOW

#DefendDreamers

#DreamActNow

Beginning tomorrow, no undocumented youths can apply for DACA. Nor can they work, study, and live without fear of deportation—thanks to Trump’s heartless rescission of DACA.

Trump’s arbitrary deadline, which he won’t extend, is nonsensical.
• DREAMers are broadly supported by Congress, the general population and even Trump voters http://n.pr/2w64fyL
• annually they pay $2 billion state/local taxes at higher rates than the top 1% http://bit.ly/2jHPl0b
• deporting them could reduce the size of the American economy by $280-430 billion over next decade http://ti.me/2hdgkzN

Since Congress’ promised quick legislative fix never materialized (http://wapo.st/2y1l2Hl) and Dreamers became bargaining chips to exchange for increased enforcement (http://n.pr/2gaZOgr), 18 states, the University of California, major companies, and DACA recipients filed lawsuits to block implementationhttp://lat.ms/2fi4tzT

DACA activists—worried their protection might come at their parents’ expense—have been demonstrating for a clean DREAM Act. http://bit.ly/2wExUPf

To force Congressional action, Presente.org and United We Dream are planning to . . .

Drown Congress TODAY . . .

with 10,000 calls supporting permanent protection for childhood arrivals. We must join this campaign—urging our MoCs and Congressional leaders in key states to immediately pass a . . .

Clean DREAM Act with a path to citizenship!

**ACTION 2: CALL BOTH SENATORS**

SAMPLE SCRIPT:
“My name is [–] and I’m a constituent from [city], Oregon [zip code]. I am very concerned that after today many Dreamers will lose their protection against deportation. I urge you to stand with immigrant groups and answer their call for the permanent protection of these childhood arrivals by immediately passing the bipartisan DREAM Act (S. 1615), without enforcement add-ons. Thank you.”

**ACTION 3: JOIN THE DREAM VOLUNTEERS TEXT TEAM**

After you’ve made your calls to your MoCs, sign up with www.Presente.org to text Presente.org and United We Dream members in key states, urging them to protect immigrant youth by contacting their own members of Congress. GOP lawmakers dispute that Trump agreed with top Democrats on “dreamers.” Everyone’s still waiting for the White House to offer ideas.
