Indivisible is planning a Protect The Results Rally at 5 pm in Ashland Plaza\, the day after election day – November 4th. DESCRIPTION:Our own ORD2 Indivisible Letter Writing Team has written an impressive number of letters to voters with Vote Forward! Last count was over 15\,500\, wow! Thank you\, thank you\, thank you\, to our many letter writers from near and far who joined us in the Garden or on Zoom to write thousands of letters. What you have done – what you are doing – is getting us closer to what we all want and need – the ouster of the current administration in Washington DC and the welcome of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris! \nOur final Garden Party takes place on Tuesday\, October 13 from 10 to noon! Bring all your letters that day. We’ll have some extra stamps on hand\, but please let us know ahead if you need large quantities. \nWe’ll spend the first hour making sure that our letters are stamped\, sealed\, and placed in postal trays. \nDuring the second hour\, we’ll be treated to a special mini Zoom concert with Roy Zimmerman. Roy writes hilarious political songs with his wife\, Melanie\, and before COVID-19\, they toured the country constantly\, bringing laughter and encouragement to the “Blue Dots” – the most progressive people in some of the least progressive places in the nation. “I get accused of preaching to the converted\,” says Roy\, “but that’s not how I think about it. DESCRIPTION:Please join ORD2 Indivisible’s monthly General Meeting on Monday\, Aug. 10\, from 6:30-8:00 p.m.\, on Zoom.  \nThis month’s meeting will be a panel discussion called “Let’s Talk About CAHOOTS.” CAHOOTS (Crisis Assistance Helping Out on the Streets) is a community-based public safety system that started at the White Bird Clinic in Eugene 31 years ago to provide mental health first response for crises involving mental illness\, homelessness and addiction. The CAHOOTS model has been in the spotlight recently as our nation struggles to reimagine public safety. The panel will consist of Tim Black\, Operations Coordinator with CAHOOTS; Meesha Blair\, Advocacy Committee Chair with NAMI Southern Oregon; Shelby Henry\, Resource Advocate for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault; and Sarah Westover\, Phoenix City Council member who is also active in the Real Solutions Coalition. SUMMARY:Letters to Voters Garden and Zoom Parties - Medford (And Your Homes)
DESCRIPTION:We’re taking our Letters to Voters campaign to another level. To date\, our amazing group of dedicated ORD2 Indivisible volunteers has written a whopping 2\,000 letters.\n\nAs we kick into a higher gear before the November election\, we are looking for more folks to join us.\n\nWe’re holding in-person GARDEN PARTIES for small groups in Medford on Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. – noon. We’ll provide pre-printed letters and ask you to personalize them\, address envelopes and affix stamps. Please bring a mask. Since the number of spaces is limited to accommodate social distancing\, we recommend that you make your reservation ASAP. \nSimultaneously\, from the garden\, we’ll be hosting peer-to-peer letter writing ZOOM PARTIES you can attend from the comfort of your home! We’ll provide you with a link and instructions after you sign up. DESCRIPTION:Veterans for Peace\, Rogue Valley Chapter 156: \nPOTUS has sent heavily armed paramilitary troops into Portland supposedly to stop “anarchists” and “Antifa” protesters from desecrating the Federal Courthouse in Portland\, but really to show his base how tough he is. In solidarity with the peaceful protesters in Portland\, bring your signs\, your facemask\, and your spirit to this rally and march. John Marciano is the chief organizer of this rally. \nAs federal troops terrorize protestors in Portland\, the citizens of Southern Oregon stand firmly in solidarity with the protestors and\, in this particular case\, our state leadership. We strongly condemn the federal troop presence and violent tactics. \nWe are demanding an end to racism\, poverty\, and militarism!\nWearing masks and social distancing is\, of course\, expected. We want everyone at the rally to feel safe. \n
