DESCRIPTION:We are moving our monthly Teach & Greet down the street to the patio at Trium Wines\, 203 E. Main Street\, in Talent. The topic for May is “The Power of the Pen.” \n \nWe want to hear your thoughts on such issues as: \n\nimpeachment (should we support it or not?\nthe LNG pipeline (who should we write\, and what are the best talking points?)\nthe county commissioner raises (should we make this into our fight?)\n\nWe’ll talk about how to write powerful letters to the editor and will have pens and postcards for everyone to fill out and send to our federal\, state and county representatives. \nAnd we’ll do it all in the sunshine\, over a nice glass of wine. \nAlso\, please bring non-perishable food items and look for the blue bins!

Please join us at our next Teach & Greet when a representative from his staff tells us about his work there and what we can do to make a difference. \nIn addition\, we will be collecting food items to help restock the shelves at local food banks. DESCRIPTION:Can Oregon Lead by Example?\nHB2020\, introduced into the Oregon Legislature in January 2019\, will create an Oregon Climate Action Program charged with reducing Oregon’s Greenhouse Gas emissions and reducing atmospheric greenhouse gases by promoting carbon capture and storage in the management of our natural and working lands (agriculture and forests).  Alan Journet and Kathy Conway\, co-facilitators of Southern Oregon Climate Action Now will discuss why such a program is needed in Oregon\, how cap\, trade\, and invest and HB2020 achieve emissions reductions\, what the program means for us\, and how we can promote its passage.\n\nJoin us on Sunday\, March 17 at 1:00 p.m. for this extremely important discussion at the Talent Community Center\, 104 E.
