DESCRIPTION:Starting this October and continuing until we oust the orange guy.\nFor ORD2 Indivisible Members ONLY. \nStaying sane isn’t easy for peace workers these days.  It’s time to come together and learn practical ways to stay focused\, peaceful and effective.  Classes teaching you how to develop and implement a personal daily self-care plan will begin on Thursday\, October 3 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Additional classes will be held on the first Thursday of each month\, again from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  We will teach several forms of Meditation with a focus on breath and sound. \nA small (you choose the amount) donation will be asked each week that will be donated to ORD2 Indivisible.  We will set up an “Action Board” for you to post ideas and on-going projects. Bring a 3X5 card with your ideas\, information or volunteer request.

DESCRIPTION:On September 20\, 2019\, millions of us will walk out of our workplaces and homes to join young climate strikers on the streets and demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. \nOur house is on fire — let’s act like it.\nWe demand climate justice for everyone.\n \nThe Global Strike for Climate Action is likely to be the largest ever worldwide event calling for climate action now. While it is a youth-led event\, international organizers are calling for a strong showing of people of all ages to stand in solidarity with students in demanding climate action now… and showing that we have the will\, the passion\, the courage\, and the raw people power to make it happen. \nFollowing the student walkouts and rally at the Ashland Plaza from 11 to noon\, adults and students join together\, for the Unite for Climate Action event from noon-3:45 pm at the Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park.\n\n\nWe are planning a community picnic and a day of joy and creativity to demonstrate powerfully that we share the concerns of our local students and are with them wholeheartedly in this transformative effort to address climate change. Under the creative direction of Barret O’Brien the afternoon will feature a varied program of music\, uplifting presentations\, poetry\, group art\, spiritual centering for climate healing\, and information on opportunities for taking personal and community action. \n\nA number of community organizations have been invited to table at this event\, organizations such as Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN)\, Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance Community\, the GEOS Institute and ORD2 Indivisible. Those tabling will have the opportunity to provide information about taking personal and collective action to create a sustainable future and advocate for climate action. We hope that you will join with us to celebrate our beautiful planet and be inspired and energized to continue to build momentum and take real action to address climate change.\n\nThis is a BYO picnic with your own plates\, cups\, and utensils. Food trucks will also be available. DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, July 12th we will be having a very special event:  \nLights for Liberty: A Candlelight Vigil to End Human Detention Camps\n \nVigils are taking place throughout the nation will bring thousands of Americans from numerous organizations and all walks of life to detention camps across the country\, into the streets and into our own front yards\, to protest the inhumane conditions faced by refugees. \nPlease join us at the Ashland Plaza just before 9:00 p.m. for this extremely important event. \nBring your families\, friends\, neighbors\, signs\, posters\, candles\, flashlights\, etc. as we send a message that we abhor the inhumane treatment being perpetrated in this\, our land of the free. \n“Now is the time for every person to stand up and say\, ‘We will not accept this!’ No more hesitating. No more denial. No more fear. We need to be bold\, and loud\, and unrelenting. That’s the only way we can stop this\,” said Kristin Mink\, activist and organizer. \n“The Trump administration’s immigration policies and detention camps meet the United Nations’ definition of genocide and crimes against humanity\,” said Elizabeth Cronise McLaughlin\, lawyer\, activist and organizer. “Congress is refusing to stop the president and his policies. DESCRIPTION:This is an open invitation for you to join us as we once again march in the 4th of July Parade in Ashland!\nThe parade theme for this year is “Celebrating 50-years of Friendship.” \nThe 2019 4th of July Celebration is honoring the 50-years of Sister City friendship between Guanajuato\, Mexico and Ashland\, Oregon. \nWe are excited to honor this lifelong friendship between two cities and two countries marked by the people-to-people connections that embrace peace\, understanding and acceptance of different cultures and ways of life without judgment\, but with joy in honoring our differences and sharing our common values. Ashland is built upon relationships with one another and friendship is at the forefront of this historic relationship. \n \nThis year we will gather at the Southern Oregon University parking lot\, lot #36\, on South Mountain Avenue across the street from the SOU Music Recital Hall. \nWe are entry #25 and will line up on Row B.\nNew this year\, there will be limited parking available for parade participants on the SOU campus on the Music Recital Hall (east) side of South Mountain Ave. Please note that there will be street closures throughout Ashland beginning as early as 6:00 a.m. so plan accordingly. \nWe will begin gathering at 8:00 a.m. and all participants must be lined up and ready to march by 9:15 a.m. The parade begins at 10:00 a.m. \nCome join and march with us as we once again show our Indivisible spirit to our Southern Oregon community!\n\nAfter the parade\, join us at Lithia Park\, booth 17. We’ll be there all day sharing our messages and selling our merchandise that includes new t-shirts\, buttons and bumper stickers. We look forward to seeing you on July 4!

For two years\, we worked tirelessly to change the social and political landscape of our country. In the face of massive bigotry\, xenophobia\, misogyny\, and disregard for laws and norms\, we stood strong and united with love and purpose to protect our communities and our planet. So we take this opportunity to be thankful for our accomplishments and grateful for the opportunity to work together toward the common good. \nBut our work isn’t over yet. In business\, they talk about the importance of building the bench – building depth at the bottom\, middle\, and top — to ensure that the team can sustain its performance over time. And this is what we must do. We must invest in our community so that we all have the skills and tools we need to be successful over time. \nSo this year we want to focus on building our bench. We want to highlight people and organizations that are investing in our community of girls\, women\, and other underrepresented groups…educating them\, mentoring them\, and helping them build strength in their minds and in their bodies.
