SUMMARY:Rogue Indivisible Spring Fundraising Event & Silent Auction - Grants Pass
DESCRIPTION:Come support Rogue Indivisible at our Spring Fundraising Event & Silent Auction with Barnstormer’s presentation of this wonderful Comedy: Revenge of the Space Pandas (or Binky Rudich and the Two-Speed Clock) \nThe play\, written by David Mamet and directed by Madeline DeCourcey\, is an “out of this world” comedy written by David Mamet that should appeal to all ages \nBinky Rudich\, his friend Viv\, and his almost human sheep Bob\, tinker with a two-speed clock with the idea that\, as Binky says\, “Time on Earth moves at the same speed all the time\, but there is another speed\, a slower speed\, and if we could find it\, everything would stand still on Earth\, and we would spin off.” And they do! To Crestview\, Fourth World in the Goolagong System\, which is ruled by George Topax and guarded by the Great Space Pandas. When Supreme Ruler Topax commands that Bob be brought to him\, never again to leave Goolagong\, and steals the two-speed clock just to make sure\, the excitement multiplies. Only a playwright like Mamet could produce such an insane comedy! \nTicket Sales:  https://www.eventbrite.com/e/92492636967 \nWhy Is Fundraising  Important?\nRogue Indivisible\, with the help of our member volunteers and teaming with other similarly minded organizations\, has detailed plans to help take Josephine County from a red to blue County (following the great success Washoe County had implementing a “Project Purple”). Find out more about the Purple Plan by attending our upcoming meetings.

SUMMARY:V-DAY 2020 and One Billion Rising - Ashland
DESCRIPTION:V-DAY and One Billion Rising raise awareness to end violence against women and girls (cisgender\, transgender and those who hold fluid identities that are subject to gender-based violence). \nJoin us on February 16th from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm at 1st Presbyterian Church (Calvin Hall) in Ashland 1615 Clark Avenue (corner of Siskiyou and Walker Ave).   We’ll start with our Flash Mob dance rehearsal BREAK THE CHAIN. Please come and watch even if you won’t be joining us for that part. \nKaren Lovely\, singer\, songwriter\, activist\, survivor and domestic violence advocate will be our keynote speaker. \nWe’ll have live music\, finger foods and an art auction. Come stencil your very own “One Billion Rising” T-shirt. Bring a 100% cotton T-shirt to stencil on. \nIf you have a poem or story to share\, please contact lynnepethtel@icloud.com.  If you would like to know more about the One Billion Rising or V-Day\, go to onebillionrising.org or vday.org.   Cost: $10 donation \nV-Day\, the global movement to end violence against all women and children was started by author\, playwright and activist Eve Ensler February 14th\, 1998 with the performance of her play The Vagina Monologues. \nSince its inception\, the movement has expanded to include the founding of One Billion Rising February 14th\, 2012. This campaign began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that 1 in 3 women on this planet will be beaten or raped in her lifetime. With the world population of 7 billion\, at that time\, this adds up to One Billion women and girls. \nV-DAY believes that art\, music\, dance\, theatre and poetry transform our world. By embracing these beliefs and cherishing\, nurturing and respecting each other we can protect our mother earth.  However\, we must acknowledge that we cannot end the violence without looking at the intersection of poverty\, racism\, the environment and war. The rise of misogynist\, authoritarian regimes around the world compels us to keep fighting for gender\, climate\, economic and racial justice. \nJoin us to Break The Chain of violence against women and girls around the globe and learn how we can make a difference in our own home town. \nContact lynnepethtel@icloud.com for questions. \n

SUMMARY:Flash Mob Dance Rehearsals Are Starting for "BREAK THE CHAIN" for the Women's March on March 29
DESCRIPTION:Flash Mob Dance Rehearsals Are Starting!\nJoin us in solidarity as we express ourselves through dance about the pervasive abuse of women and girls around the globe. \nThe Flash Mob Dance\, done by groups around the world\, is part of the ONE BILLION RISING\, the biggest mass action to end violence against women in human history. \nThe ONE BILLION RISING campaign launched on Valentine’s Day 2012 and began as a call to action based on the staggering statistic that one in three women on this planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. Throughout the first three years of One Billion Rising\, activists used “Break The Chain” (flash mob dance) as an integral and creative aspect of their Rising events. Debbie Allen is the choreographer of this dance. \nGo to bit.ly/BreakTheChain2020 or click here for a YouTube link to see the choreography. \nRehearsals all for ALL people young and old\, no matter your limited ability to move or “your two left feet”. Come to watch for those who would like to support us but are not inclined to dance. Last year we had one or two men join us. This year\, we hope to see their voices raised alongside the women and girls. \nCo-organizer Julia Daye leads dozens of participants in a flash-mob dance to the song “Break the Chain\,” on Thursday (Feb. 14) during the seventh annual Taos One Billion Rising event at Taos Plaza. \nThe performance will be at the Women’s March Southern Oregon\, Medford Armory March 29th sometime between 1 and 4 PM.\nALL REHEARSALS are from 2-3 pm on Sundays except March 15th. SUMMARY:IMPEACH NOW! Gathering & Demonstration - Medford
DESCRIPTION:It’s (past) time!\nJoin us as we tell Southern Oregon and the world at large\, it’s time to clean house\, remove the trash and \nIMPEACH NOW!\nWe will gather each Thursday at noon. On November 14 we will meet at Vogel Plaza in downtown Medford with our signs\, messages and chants. \n \nHelp us swell our numbers and spread the word!\n\nORD2 Indivisible Community Code of Conduct Reminder\nPlease review the ORD2 Indivisible Community Code of Conduct: \nThe purpose of our Community Code of Conduct is to ensure that all feel welcome to participate in the ORD2 INDIVISIBLE community. The Community Code of Conduct covers our behavior as members of the ORD2 INDIVISIBLE community in any public meeting\, online forum\, mailing list\, website\, or private correspondence.\nWe have a few ground rules that we ask people to adhere to\, to ensure that the ORD2 INDIVISIBLE community is welcoming to every person and an effective example of the kind of change we advocate for with our MoCs. Please accept this list in the spirit in which it’s intended — a guide to make it easier to be respectful to each other. Please follow the spirit of these guidelines\, not just the letter. \nProtect others’ privacy needs. Political organizing can be a very public act\, which can be risky for some members of our community. We want everyone to be able to participate to their level of comfort. To make sure everyone can do so\, please do not share personal information about other participants without their consent. \nBe patient. This mostly applies to forums and mailing lists. This community is built on volunteer time\, both from participants and organizers. It is possible that your question or suggestion might not receive an immediate response. Be patient and consider the norms of the community. An occasional reminder is welcome; many reminders in rapid succession are not a good display of patience. \nBe respectful. Not all of us will agree all the time\, but disagreement is no excuse for poor behavior and poor manners. We might all experience some frustration now and then\, but we cannot allow that frustration to turn into a personal attack. It’s important to remember that a community where people feel uncomfortable or threatened is not a productive one. We expect members of the ORD2 INDIVISIBLE community to be respectful when communicating with other community members\, as well as with people outside the ORD2 INDIVISIBLE community. \nBe courteous to congressional staff. Please be especially courteous when communicating with our MoCs’ staff. We will often deliver very assertive messages to our MoCs through their staff\, however we must be mindful that the staff does not make the final decisions on our MoCs’ actions and positions. Individual staff members may even agree with us but are required to faithfully represent their employer’s views\, not their own. Make sure to treat staff courteously and respectfully even when they give unwelcome news about their employers’ positions. \nBe nice. Everyone in the ORD2 INDIVISIBLE community should feel welcome\, regardless of their background. Please be courteous\, respectful and polite to fellow community members. No offensive comments related to gender\, gender identity or expression\, sexual orientation\, disability\, physical appearance\, body size\, race\, religion; no sexual images in public spaces\, real or implied violence\, intimidation\, oppression\, stalking\, following\, harassing photography or recording\, sustained disruption of talks or other events\, inappropriate physical contact\, or unwelcome sexual attention will be tolerated. \nBe brief. When calling MoCs’ offices on a call-to-action\, be clear that you are a constituent from the district (name\, zip code)\, state your position to a specific vote\, thank the staffer for answering your call\, and hang up so the next call can come in. They don’t need to hear your political philosophy. When speaking at a rally or event\, express your passion\, but tell your story and make your point as quickly as possible: this is polite and more effective. \nHARASSMENT POLICY \nHarassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender\, age\, sexual orientation\, disability\, physical appearance\, body size\, race\, or religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of meetings or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. \nParticipants will be asked to stop any harassing behavior and they are expected to comply immediately. Organizers and invited guests are subject to the anti-harassment policy. If a participant is found to have engaged in harassing behavior\, organizers may take any action they deem appropriate\, including warning the offender\, excluding them from online forums\, or excluding them from public meetings. \nTo report harassment during any event or venue\, please contact an organizer directly\, or send an e-mail to contact@ord2indivisible.org   To the best of our ability we will assist any person experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration our events. We value your attendance.

SUMMARY:Global Climate Strike - Ashland
DESCRIPTION:On September 20\, 2019\, millions of us will walk out of our workplaces and homes to join young climate strikers on the streets and demand an end to the age of fossil fuels. \nOur house is on fire — let’s act like it.\nWe demand climate justice for everyone.\n \nThe Global Strike for Climate Action is likely to be the largest ever worldwide event calling for climate action now. While it is a youth-led event\, international organizers are calling for a strong showing of people of all ages to stand in solidarity with students in demanding climate action now… and showing that we have the will\, the passion\, the courage\, and the raw people power to make it happen. \nFollowing the student walkouts and rally at the Ashland Plaza from 11 to noon\, adults and students join together\, for the Unite for Climate Action event from noon-3:45 pm at the Butler Bandshell in Lithia Park.\n\n\nWe are planning a community picnic and a day of joy and creativity to demonstrate powerfully that we share the concerns of our local students and are with them wholeheartedly in this transformative effort to address climate change. Under the creative direction of Barret O’Brien the afternoon will feature a varied program of music\, uplifting presentations\, poetry\, group art\, spiritual centering for climate healing\, and information on opportunities for taking personal and community action. \n\nA number of community organizations have been invited to table at this event\, organizations such as Southern Oregon Climate Action Now (SOCAN)\, Southern Oregon Pachamama Alliance Community\, the GEOS Institute and ORD2 Indivisible. Those tabling will have the opportunity to provide information about taking personal and collective action to create a sustainable future and advocate for climate action. We hope that you will join with us to celebrate our beautiful planet and be inspired and energized to continue to build momentum and take real action to address climate change.\n\nThis is a BYO picnic with your own plates\, cups\, and utensils. Food trucks will also be available. Our goal is to make this as close as possible to a zero-waste event. \nFor a list of walkouts and additional events planned for the Global Climate Strike\, see https://www.facebook.com/rogueclimate/photos/pb.117716961734629.-2207520000.1568223170./1237527049753609/ (scroll down beneath the photo for the list of events)
